When someone needs increasing support in daily life, families often face a difficult question: How can care be organised reliably without giving up the familiar home? 24-hour care at home offers a caring alternative to moving into a care home.
The carer supports daily life, helps in the household, accompanies outings and provides security, closeness and structure.
For many families, financing is decisive. At Sencurina, additional funding options can reduce the actual financial burden. We review together which benefits apply in your individual case.

The Sencurina funding model connects home care with additional reimbursement options through care insurance.
Sencurina Pflege und Betreuung GmbH is recognised as a provider of everyday support under § 45a SGB XI. Under certain conditions, converted care benefits in kind can be used in addition to the relief amount.
From care grade 2, up to 40% of the care benefits budget can be used for recognised support services, provided the budget is not fully used by an outpatient care service.
What matters is the actual monthly burden. We therefore consider the household situation, care costs and all available care insurance benefits and reimbursements.
The carer works independently and supports within the agreed scope.
Required and desired tasks are agreed individually.
Sencurina supports consultation, selection, organisation and ongoing care.
Benefit conversion, care allowance and relief amount can reduce the burden.
Which care insurance benefits and reimbursements can be used in your case.
Costs are as individual as each care situation. They depend on scope of care, requirements for the carer and available funding options.
As a guide, care costs start from around €2,800 per month. The actual burden can drop significantly through care allowance, relief amount, benefit conversion, respite care and tax relief.
In a consultation we review together which costs are realistic and which care insurance benefits apply.

There are many good reasons why home care may be the right choice: dementia, physical limitations, stroke consequences or other conditions. Sometimes it is about accompanying seniors through the day, providing security and preventing loneliness.
Home care can make sense when someone should no longer live alone permanently, families need relief, regular household support is needed, dementia or cognitive limitations are present, support is needed after illness or hospital stay, or a care home is not desired at this time.
At home, your loved ones can remain in their familiar environment. The carer adapts to their habits – not the other way around.
Washing, dressing, toileting, incontinence care – with respect and privacy.
Shopping, cooking, preparing and portioning – considering preferences and habits.
Cleaning, laundry, ironing, plant and pet care – as agreed.
Help getting up, walking and transfers – following the principle of helping people help themselves.
Doctor visits, shopping, walks, outings and events.
Conversations, reading aloud, games, shared hobbies and social interaction.
Presence in the household and response in emergencies – nights are primarily for rest.
Carers may not provide medical treatment care. This includes wound care, injections, preparing medication, changing dressings and medical treatment care on medical prescription. Where such services are required, an outpatient care service provides them.
The decision between home care and a care home is one of the hardest for families. Both can be right – what matters is what fits the person in need of care, the family and the care situation.
**Familiar environment:** Your loved ones remain in familiar surroundings – social contacts, neighbourhood and personal routines are preserved.
**Individual support:** The carer adapts to personal habits, daily rhythm and wishes.
**Families stay involved:** You can help shape care and develop the right daily structure together with Sencurina.
**Honest assessment:** Home care is not always cheaper than a care home. With very high medical needs or permanent night support, a care home may be more suitable. Sencurina helps with a realistic assessment.
Costs depend on individual care needs. As a guide, costs start from around €2,800 per month. Sample calculations show total costs of approx. €3,120, €3,480 or €3,900 – the effective burden can drop significantly through reimbursements.
